While teaching life skills in a remote village in Bugiri, Uganda, I noticed a small girl watching from under a mango tree. Her name was Deborah and she was 8 years old. When I walked up to her she said, “I would like to learn,” but Deborah meant more than life skills. She wanted to go to school. You see, there were no schools for young children in this isolated village in the Bugiri district of Uganda. This is when my vision to help change Deborah’s and other children’s destinies began. Now, with the generous help of a few kind hearts, Raven's Ark Nursery and Primary School opened its doors of Education in 2021. Every day another parent or grandparent enters the school to request an education for their child but they are put on a waiting list until we have enough funds to feed them and provide school supplies. In addition, the elders of the village request us to enroll one child per family so the community can truly be transformed.
